Danny's has been a name associated with the hospitality industry in New Brunswick for many years. It began in 1947, when Danny and Adeline DeGrace opened a guest home on Chaleur Beach and began accommodating overnight guests during the summer months.
Danny himself, was an example and an inspiration to many, in that he accomplished much despite a drawback early in his career. While still a young man, Danny was stricken with polio, the effects of which lingered throughout his life. However, his strong ambition and determination to succeed overcame this obstacle.
In 1951, four cabins and a small roadside diner specializing in hamburgers set the pace for the establishment. The quality of food service allowed the business to enjoy continuous growth throughout the years. From this very modest start, grew the Danny's Group comprised of a modern motor inn and conference centre; a full service motor inn on the Bathurst By-Pass, as well as several other business ventures.
Danny managed the business until 1971, when his son Robert who worked with his father during his younger years, took on the responsibility. Today, Danny's continues the tradition by striving for perfection in offering quality food and service in a pleasant atmosphere of maritime hospitality.
